After a long wait, the sequel to Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo's Wicked titled Wicked: For Good, is gearing up for its OTT release in India. Directed by John M Chu, the musical fantasy film is set to premiere on JioHotstar on March 21.

Released in November last year, the film tracks Glinda and Elphaba’s friendship, as it faces a test while they navigate their new identities as Glinda the Good Witch of the North and Wicked Witch of the West, respectively. It explores how their actions affect Oz in its entirety.

The sequel to the 2024 film, it adapts the second act of the 2003 stage musical by Stephen Schwartz and Winnie Holzman, which was loosely based on Gregory Maguire's 1995 novel, a reimagining of L Frank Baum's 1900 novel The Wonderful Wizard of Oz and its 1939 film adaptation.

Upon release, the film garnered positive reviews from audiences and critics. An excerpt from our CE review of the film read, "Wicked: For Good highlights how, for a person to do good, one doesn’t have to lose their sense of self and acceptance of self shouldn’t come at the cost of stomping on others. The expertise that writer Winnie Holzman has over the story, having written the book for the stage play, is highlighted in the film. Along with Dana Fox, Holzman’s dialogues and scenes are memorable.

Jonathan Bailey, Ethan Slater, Bowen Yang, Marissa Bode, Michelle Yeoh, and Jeff Goldblum reprised roles from the first film, with Colman Domingo joining the cast as the voice behind the Cowardly Lion.
