The first teaser of Timothée Chalamet and Zendaya's Dune: Part Three which was released recently gave a glimpse of Robert Pattinson's antagonist character Scytale, hinting at an intense role in the franchise created by Denis Villeneuve. But the actor feels he wasn't cast by the filmmaker and believes Zendaya might have helped him land the role.

The actor who stars with the Euphoria actor in the upcoming film The Drama, recalled discussing Villeneuve's epic on the sets of their movie and asking if it would be possible for him to work on the next film.

"I was talking to you on the set of The Drama. I was like, 'Can I get in one of those Dune movies?'," he revealed. Zendaya replied, "I know a guy." When Pattinson received the call a few months later, he said it was "very unexpected". "And I kind of did think you had something to do with it," he added.

As per Female First UK, the actor teased even he doesn't know if his character is a good or bad guy. Explaining his role, Pattinson said, "Scytale is an unusual character in the book and when you can’t really tell who side he’s on, that’s what makes it quite interesting. I wouldn’t say he was a kind of conventional bad guy as such. I don’t think he is. He might even be a good guy. Who knows? I will also find out when I see the movie. It’s an extremely fun character to play and the look for it is quite incredible. Extraordinary."

Dune: Part Three takes place 17 years after the events of Dune: Part Two and is written by Villeneuve and Brian K Vaughan, who adapt Frank Herbert's Dune: Messiah, which was published in 1969. Linus Sandgren is serving as the cinematographer, taking over from Greig Fraser. Two time Oscar winner, Hans Zimmer returns to compose music for the film.

The film sees the return of Timothee Chalamet as Paul Atriedes, Zendaya as Chani, Florence Pugh as Princess Irulan, Rebecca Ferguson as Jessica, Charlotte Rampling as Reverend Mother Gaius Helen Mohaim, Anya Taylor-Joy as Alia Atriedes, and Javier Bardem as Stilgar. Jason Momoa who portrayed Duncan Idaho in Dune (2021), returns as a ghola clone of Duncan, now called Hayt. The cast also features Isaach de Bankole as Farok, Momoa's son Nakoa-Wolf Momoa as Leto II, and Ida Brooke as Ghanima. The latter two being children of Paul and Chani.

Dune: Part Three is set to release theatrically on December 18. Meanwhile The Drama, directed by Kristoffer Borgli is set to release on April 3.
