Amazon Prime Video has cast Maisy Stella and Tatum Grace Hopkins as the leads of the Life Is Strange series adaptation, as per a report on Variety. They will play Chloe and Max, respectively, in the show, which Prime Video started developing in September 2025.

The official logline of the series reads, "Max, a photography student, discovers she can rewind time while saving the life of her childhood best friend, Chloe (Stella). As she struggles to understand this new skill, the pair investigate the mysterious disappearance of a fellow student, uncovering a dark side to their town that will ultimately force them to make an impossible life-or-death choice that will impact them forever.”

Charlie Covell is writing the show apart from serving as the executive producer and showrunner. Executive producers under the Story Kitchen banner include Dmitri M Johnson, Michael Lawrence Goldberg, and Timothy I Stevenson. Producers of the show are Square Enix, Story Kitchen and LuckyChap, along with Amazon MGM Studios.

A video game franchise, the first Life Is Strange game was unveiled in 2015 and was received positively. It not only garnered critical acclaim but also a massive player base with nearly 20 million players worldwide. The franchise further expanded with several titles, including Life Is Strange: Before the Storm (2017), The Awesome Adventures of Captain Spirit and Life Is Strange 2 (2018), Life Is Strange: True Colours (2021) and Life Is Strange: Double Exposure (2024). The conclusion to Chloe and Max's story, Life is Strange: Reunion, is set to be launched on March 26.

Set to make her TV debut with Life Is Strange, Hopkins is known for her work in stage productions, such as The Queen of Versailles and For the Girls on Broadway. Stella, an accomplished musician, became popular for her performance in Nashville. She starred opposite Aubrey Plaza in 2024's My Old Ass, making her film debut. She then starred in Poetic License, which marks Maude Apatow's feature directorial debut. She is set to be seen in Flowervale Street along with Anne Hathaway and Ewan McGregor later this year.
