The Hugh Jackman headlined mystery comedy, The Sheep Detectives, is set to premiere on Prime Video on June 24. Directed by Kyle Balda, The Sheep Detectives opened in theatres on May 8.
Craig Mazin, who is the creator of Chernobyl and The Last of Us, has written the script for The Sheep Detectives, which is an adaptation of Three Bags Full by Leonie Swann. In the film, a group of sheep set out to uncover the mystery behind their shepherd's (Hugh Jackman) murder in the small and folksy town of Denbrook.
The cast of the film includes Nicholas Braun, Nicholas Galitzine, Molly Gordon, Hong Chau, Emma Thompson, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Bryan Cranston, Chris O’Dowd, Regina Hall, Patrick Stewart, Bella Ramsey, and Brett Goldstein, among others.
Lindsay Doran is producing The Sheep Detectives along with Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner who produce the film under their Working Title Films banner. Three Strange Angels and Lord Miller Productions are also backing The Sheep Detectives.
CE's review of the film reads, "Ultimately, The Sheep Detectives breezes through its roughly 100-minute runtime and offers some solid old-school entertainment without overstaying its welcome. Like a good bedtime story, its charm and endearing performances win you over very quickly and never let you off the hook."
