Director Christopher Nolan's adaptation of Homer's poem Odyssey continues its successful run in theatres worldwide. According to reports, it has earned a gross collection of more than $725 million from theatres worldwide. Reportedly, The Odyssey has also surpassed the collection of Nolan's own Oppenheimer to become his third-highest-earning film at the US box office after the second and third The Dark Knight films from him.

There has been some criticism from authors and audiences in Greece for the film, starring Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Robert Pattinson, Anne Hathaway, Zendaya, and Charlize Theron, among others. According to the critics, Nolan has not been faithful enough to the source material.

Despite this, The Odyssey continues to impress general audiences and those who are less pedantic than others. Take the founder of the Hollywood studio, Blumhouse, Jason Blum, for example.

The filmmaker took to social media on Thursday and shared his thoughts on Nolan's film. he wrote, "The Odyssey is fantastic. No notes. And worth every decibel of hearing I lost."

It is worth noting that Blumhouse is known for producing horror films, some of which have gone on to earn a place among the highest-grossing films in the genre. Speaking of horror, Nolan, too, has expressed his desire to direct a horror film sometime in the future. The filmmaker has said that, similar to his previous film Oppenheimer, The Odyssey also has elements of the horror genre, such as the moment featuring a giant figure known as the Cyclopes in a cave.

The theatre count for the film has come down in India following the release of Holland's Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Meanwhile, the film's IMAX run has been extended, reportedly thanks to popular demand from the audience.
