Several actors have confessed that they have had to cheat their conscience while promoting some of their films as part of their commitment to those projects. Actor Tom Holland has become the latest to express a similar sentiment in a recent interview. Speaking on the Dish Podcast, Holland said that he finds it easy to endorse The Odyssey and Spider-Man: Brand New Day because he believes in the quality of these films.

Sharing that he is "absolutely loving" the promotional tours for the two aforementioned projects, Holland said that the job becomes easy when the film itself make him feel proud of being a part of it. "When they ask you questions about why should people go and watch this movie, you’re not lying to anyone. You really think people should go see it," the actor explained.

On the contrary, Holland suggested that he has had to lie to himself and the audience during promotions for some of his past films. "I’ve had experiences before when people say, ‘Why should you see this movie?’ And in the back of your mind, you’re like, ‘You shouldn’t, because it’s sh**," the actor said.

Holland's comments come at a time when his film with director Christopher Nolan, The Odyssey, is doing exceptionally well at the global box office. According to reports, the film has earned more than $350 million from theatres worldwide. Speaking about the bumper success of the film at the box office, Holland said, "It’s felt really like a bit of a victory lap to be honest. I’ve really enjoyed it. I’m super proud of both of the films."

Holland stars as King of Ithaca Odysseus's (Matt Damon) and Penelope's (Anne Hathaway) son, Telemachus, in the cinematic adaptation of Homer's poem Odyssey.

Holland's upcoming projects include Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
