Lanterns trailer: A disgruntled Hal Jordan and a rookie John Stewart investigate the case of murderous Manhunters

Lanterns is the first live action series from the new slate of projects from DC, and is set in the same world as Superman (2025)

The official trailer of DC's upcoming series, Lanterns have been released by the studio. The first live-action series from the new slate of projects from DC Studios, is set to premiere on JioHotstar on August 17.

The new trailer glosses over the plot of the first season which sees a disgruntled Hal Jordan (Kyle Chandler), training a rookie John Stewart (Aaron Pierre) to take over as the Green Lantern of his sector. The pair also set out to investigate a murder, which ties to a race of shape-shifting aliens, called Manhunters.

The cast of Lanterns also includes Nathan Fillion, who reprises his role as Guy Gardner from Superman (2025), Kelly Macdonald, Garret Dillahunt, Poorna Jagannathan, Laura Linney, Jason Ritter, Ulrich Thomsen, J Alphonse Nicholson, and Jasmine Cephas Jones.

Lanterns is created by Chris Mundy, Damon Lindelof, and Tom King. Lindelof has worked with DC on the Watchmen series. He is also the creator of Lost.
