Avengers: Doomsday trailer: Thor rallies heroes across three universes for their day of reckoning

Avengers: Doomsday is directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, and features the return of Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, and former Ironman actor Robert Downey Jr as Victor von Doom/Dr Doom

Marvel has released the trailer for the upcoming superhero event flick, Avengers: Doomsday. The upcoming film will see the return of former Ironman actor Robert Downey Jr, who will now essay the role of supervillain Victor von Doom/Dr Doom.

The trailer features Chris Hemsworth as Thor, who rallies the Avengers and the Fantastic Four along with the Wakandans and the Talokan, to fight against a threat that the multiverse hasn't seen before in Dr Doom. While we get an voiceover from Thor, who summarises the intensity of the threat, we also get our first glimpse at Dr Doom, who also adds to the voiceover with his Latverian accent. When Thor seeks to find a miracle to save the universe from Dr Doom, he encounters Steve Rogers/Captain America (Chris Evans) to his surprise.

The cast of the film also includes Pedro Pascal, Paul Rudd, Anthony Mackie, Florence Pugh, Vanessa Kirby, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Wyatt Russell, Channing Tatum, Simu Liu, Ian McKellen, Tom Hiddleston, James Marsden, Patrick Stewart, Joseph Quinn, Sebastian Stan, David Harbour, Letitia Wright, Lewis Pullman, Kelsey Grammer, Kathryn Newton, Danny Ramirez, Winston Duke, Alan Cumming, Hannah John-Kamen, Rebecca Romijn, Mabel Cadena, with Tenoch Huerta Mejia.

The Russo brothers, Anthony and Joe Russo, return to Marvel after Avengers: Endgame (2019), to direct Avengers: Doomsday. Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, and Jonathan Schwartz are producing the film which is set to release on December 18.
