Following the announcement that stated David Leitch's upcoming action-comedy, Jason Statham Stole My Bike, would be released on August 6, 2027, the makers have confirmed that Ted Lasso actor Hannah Waddingham is starring in the film. This film reunites Waddingham with Leitch after their collaboration in The Fall Guy.

Jason Statham Stole My Bike, which stars Statham as himself, was announced in February, with the shoot commencing in June. The film also reunites Statham with Leitch after Hobbs & Shaw (2019). Leitch is directing Jason Statham Stole My Bike from a screenplay by Alison Flierl, known for her work on series such as School of Rock and BoJack Horseman.

Starring alongside Melissa McCarthy, the plot details are kept under wraps, but the makers will see Statham play "in the role of a lifetime, playing global action superstar Jason Statham". The film is expected to have a large number of action set pieces.

Leitch and Kelly McCormick of 87 North are producing the film, alongside Statham himself, under Punch Palace Productions and John Friedberg of Black Bear. Producers Ethan Erwin and Meredith Berg of the Beryllium Entertainment banner are also attached to the film.

In addition to her role in Ted Lasso, Waddingham is also known for Game of Thrones, Sex Education and Krypton.
