Confirming rumours that filmmaker Michael Waldron will develop a feature film around the character of Nova at Marvel Studios, the film is now in the works. Though the film is in the very early stage of development, reports state that Waldron will also direct it if things go well. It was speculated last year that Sabir Pirzada was penning the comic for a TV show, which was shelved later.

Nova, who first appeared in the 1976 issue of Super Adventures, is a part of the intergalactic police force known as the Nova Corps. He gained superhuman abilities, including enhanced strength, flight, and resistance to injury. Although he doesn't cross paths with the main figures of Marvel, except for the Skrulls.

Waldron shares a long association with Marvel. He has been part of the Loki series (2021-2023), and the films Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (2022) and the upcoming film Avengers: Doomsday (2026). His other works include Chad Powers and Heels.
