HBO has expanded the cast of The White Lotus season 4 with the addition of Steve Coogan and Caleb Jonte Edwards. The upcoming season of The White Lotus, which will be set and filmed in France, is currently being written by series creator Mike White.
As is customary with the anthology series, details about the characters played by Coogan and Edwards are being kept under wraps. Their casting brings them in as the third and fourth confirmed actors for the new season, following the previously announced Alexander Ludwig and AJ Michalka.
The network revealed last November that season 4 of The White Lotus would unfold in France, with the luxury hotel Château de la Messardière in Saint-Tropez serving as the main setting. Filming is also expected to take place in other locations across the country.
Coogan is widely recognised for his iconic portrayal of Alan Partridge, a character he has played across multiple television series since the 1990s. Beyond that role, he is a two-time Academy Award nominee for co-writing and producing Philomena and has featured in projects such as The Trip films and series alongside Rob Brydon, In the Loop, and the Despicable Me franchise, where he lends his voice.
Edwards, meanwhile, is an emerging actor. His recent credits include an appearance in the Australian drama series Black Snow and a short film titled The Man and the Woman.
Mike White continues to serve as writer and director on The White Lotus, while also executive producing the series alongside David Bernad and Mark Kamine. Further casting announcements and plot details for Season 4 are expected to be revealed closer to the start of production.
