Whether it be onscreen or behind the screen, actor Leonardo DiCaprio has a knack of piquing the curiosity of the audience and becoming a permanent part of the meme culture. Until recently, the most popular memes featuring DiCaprio only pertained to his films: the glass toast moment from director Baz Luhrmann's film The Great Gatsby and the scene where his character points at a TV screen and says, "Here I come," in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. However, the Golden Globes saw a candid moment where DiCaprio was asking someone about 'K-Pop' during the awards ceremony's commercial break. Google-eyed netizens and lip-reading experts got to work as soon as the DiCaprio clip went viral.

According to them, the actor appears to be saying, "I saw you with the K-pop thing," in the clip as he gestures at someone else. Apparently, the one he talked to thought that K-Pop was an actual person. DiCaprio was seemingly referring to KPop Demon Hunters, which won Best Animated Feature Film and Best Original Song - Motion Picture at the Golden Globes. The film also earned a nomination for Cinematic and Box Office Achievement.

As soon as the clip went viral, netizens started second-guessing about what DiCaprio meant by the 'K-Pop thing'. It also paved the way for a crossover moment between Hollywood and Korean Pop (K-Pop) music.

Coming back to DiCaprio, while the actor failed to grab a Golden Globe win at this year's event, his moment definitely has become the talking point from the ceremony. Up next, he is expected to receive a Best Actor Oscar nomination for his performance in director Paul Thomas Anderson's One Battle After Another.
