Lee Cronin's The Mummy teaser: A young girl's terrifying fate remains

The teaser for Lee Cronin's The Mummy has been released. The retelling of The Mummy (1932) is set to release on April 17.

Cronin, who has also written the film, previously directed Evil Dead Rise (2023). James Wan, the director of The Conjuring (2013), is producing the film along with Jason Blum and John Keville. Cronin serves as an executive producer along with Michael Clear, Judson Scott, and Macdara Kelleher. New Line Cinema, Atomic Monster, Blumhouse, and Wicked/Good are the banners backing the film.

The cast of the film includes Jack Reynor, Laia Costa, May Calamawy, Natalie Grace, Veronica Falcon, May Elghety, Shylo Molina, Billie Roy, and Hayat Kamille.

The story of the film is as follows, "The young daughter of a journalist disappears into the desert without a trace—eight years later, the broken family is shocked when she is returned to them, as what should be a joyful reunion turns into a living nightmare."
