HBO has locked a location for the upcoming fourth season of The White Lotus, which is set in France. Château de la Messardière in Saint-Tropez, France, has been pinned as the hotel which is set to be converted into The White Lotus resort.

Across all three chapters, the anthology has chronicled groups of wealthy, troubled travellers whose dysfunctions — and, often, mysterious deaths — collide with the hotel staff’s lives. The White Lotus is executive produced by Mike White, David Bernad and Mark Kamine.

Back in November, HBO confirmed France as the setting for the fourth season. Season 3, which followed vacationers from Koh Samui to Bangkok, marked the series’ biggest ratings to date. Earlier instalments were set in Sicily, Italy, and Maui, Thailand, with each season reimagining a Four Seasons property as the lavish White Lotus resort.

While plot details for season four of The White Lotus are under wraps, the upcoming season is set to star Alexander Ludwig and AJ Michalka. The show is being written by Mike White, who is also the creator of the series. Production is set to begin sometime around March, April or May.

Perched in the French Riviera town of Saint-Tropez, the 19th-century Château de la Messardière offers stunning sea views and luxurious accommodations, with prices starting at around $1,300 per night for the smallest room during opening weekend. This historic chateau was originally built by wealthy cognac merchant Gabriel Dupuy d'Angeac as a wedding gift for his daughter Louise. After her husband's passing, Louise transformed the property into a hotel, which became a popular retreat for affluent Parisians in the 1920s. Following a period of decline, the chateau was beautifully restored in 1989 and is now part of the esteemed Airelles luxury hotel group.
