Netflix recently unveiled the trailer for the upcoming action thriller The Rip. Starring Matt Damon and Ben Affleck in the lead, the film is set to premiere on January 16.

'The Rip' is a term used by the police in Miami, USA, to describe the confiscation of materials from criminals, after the police have raided their places. The film will follow a group of Miami cops, who, after discovering a stash of money, worth millions of US Dollars, in a derilict drug house, begin to suspect each other.

Speaking about the film, Damon said, "“In Miami, you have to count the money on-site, so that everybody knows how much is there."

“It begs the question: what do you do when faced with this massive temptation? What does that mean? What’s it like to see that up close? And then also, who do you trust?” ponders Affleck.

The film is directed by Joe Carnahan, who said, "The crew can’t leave, which makes them targets for a bunch of bad guys. And now they have to count the money, not knowing necessarily who to trust, including one another.”

The Rip's cast includes Steven Yeun, Teyana Taylor, Sasha Calle, Catalina Sandino Moreno, Nestor Carbonell, Scott Adkins, Lina Esco, and Kyle Chandler.
