The man's heroic act has saved what could have been some major injuries

A prop of the iconic boulder from Raiders of Lost Ark spun out of control and struck a Disney World staffer at the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular! show at Hollywood Studios on New Year's Eve. In a video now being shared widely on social media, the fake boulder can be seen spinning out of its track and moving towards the viewers seated for the stunt show. Then, the employee tried to stop the inflated boulder, but the massive item knocked him off. Another Disney World employee rushed to the spot and helped his colleague get back up on his feet. Remarkably, the boulder weighs around 180 kilos, but its impact has not caused any major injuries to the man. A Disney representative told The Hollywood Reporter that the man is getting better and that the company would change the show with the boulder after a full review of the recent incident.

The man's heroic act has saved what could have been some major injuries or even fatalities. A voice can be heard in one of the clips of the incident, saying, “He literally saved your life, that guy.” The stunt show has resumed but without the giant boulder.

The boulder appears in the iconic opening scene of Steven Spielberg’s 1981 film Raiders of the Lost Ark, where it comes rolling after Harrison Ford's explorer Indiana Jones in a jungle. In the pulsating moment, Jones narrowly escapes the boulder's impact, setting the stage for an exhilarating adventure. The film has a visual style reminiscent of the 1940 film The Thief of Bagdad, where too a giant spider goes after the protagonist.
