Backrooms' teaser reveals a horrific discovery hiding beneath floorboards

A24 has released the trailer for their upcoming film Backrooms. The horror film will be directed by Kane Parsons, a 20 year old debutant, and a YouTuber.

Oscar nominees Chiwetel Ejiofor and Renate Reinsve lead the cast of the film which is based on the internet legend of the same name. According to A24 the story of Backrooms is as follows, "A strange doorway appears in the basement of a furniture showroom."

The cast of Backrooms also includes Mark Duplass, Finn Bennett, Lukita Maxwell, and Avan Jogia.

The film is produced by Shawn Levy, James Wan Dan Cohen, Dan Levine, Chris Ferguson, Roberto Patino, and Michael Clear. Chernin Entertainment, Atomic Monster, Oddfellows Pictures, 21 Laps Entertainment are backing the film along with A24.

Parsons directs the film which is written by Roberto Patino and Will Soodik. He is currently the youngest director to work on a film for A24.

Reinsve is currently nominated for her performance in Joachim Trier's Sentimental Value.
