Actor Timothee Chalamet is known for his roles in films, such as Bob Dylan in A Complete Unknown and Marty Mauser in Marty Supreme, to name a few. However, there was a time when Chalamet was relatively anonymous, and that is when he was cast in Christopher Nolan's 2014 film Interstellar. Speaking to Matthew McConaughey in a conversation for Variety recently, the actor said that Nolan is his most favourite director so far in his career.

The actor described Nolan's 2008 Batman movie The Dark Knight as a film that first made him want to take up acting. He also added Nolan's Inception to the list of films that inspired him. Further, Chalamet said about the intergalactic adventure Interstellar, "I thought it was gonna change the world."

Timothee Chalamet is in contention for a Best Actor Oscar award for his performance in Marty Supreme, directed by Josh Safdie. However, the actor still feels that Interstellar is his "favourite project" ever. He also regarded Cooper as McConaughey's "most fantastic" character. "I know you were coming off Dallas Buyers Club, but that movie, to me, was the origin point in seeing how you carried yourself on set, how seriously you and Christopher Nolan took the work. It gave me a license. Coming out of high school, it’s hard to take yourself super seriously."

He also told McConaughey, referring to the Dallas Buyers Club star and Nolan, "And I learned as much from him as I learned from you. You guys took the work extremely seriously."

The Marty Supreme star added, "I got a sense from you two that you felt like you were walking on sacred ground. You were like, “This is sacred. I don’t want to treat this as anything other than sacred.” And it was just so inspiring. It was hard to go back to college after that."
