Recently, we reported about Hirokazu Kore-eda coming back to direction after a long gap with a film titled Sheep in the Box. Shortly after the release of its first-look poster, Kore-eda has signed on to direct another project for Searchlight Pictures that stars Eddie Redmayne. The filmmaker, known for titles such as Shoplifters and Monster, will direct the English film from his own screenplay. Redmayne is also set to produce the film, alongside Jonathan King and Ash Sarohia.

The makers are yet to reveal any information about the film's plot. It will be Hirokazu Kore-eda's first film in English alone. Earlier, he directed an international Film titled The Truth, starring Juliette Binoche, Catherine Deneuve, and Ethan Hawke, which is primarily in French, although an English version is available as well. The acclaimed filmmaker's upcoming projects also include a live-action adaptation of Tatsuki Fujimoto's manga Look Back. Both Sheep in the Box and Look Back are set to release later this year.

On the other hand, Eddie Redmayne was most recently seen in the series The Day of the Jackal, in which he starred and served as an executive producer. The actor earned nominations for SAG, Critics Choice, and Golden Globe Awards for his performance in The Day of the Jackal. In the recent past, he also produced and starred in the West End theatre production Cabaret, featuring him alongside actor Jessie Buckley. Cabaret secured multiple wins at Olivier Awards, including Best Actor in a Musical for Redmayne. The actor has been busy with his work on television and theatre for a long time now.

With The Good Nurse as his last feature film, the actor is set to star alongside Julia Roberts in Panic Carefully and in a second season of The Day of the Jackal.
