Netflix had unveiled the first teaser of The Adventures of Cliff Booth, the sequel to Quentin Tarantino's hit Once Upon a Time in Hollywood (2019) during the Super Bowl which gave the first glimpse at Brad Pitt's iconic titular character. The stuntman returns to the universe in the upcoming movie, directed by David Fincher.
The short one-minute-long teaser had a retro setting and showcased Cliff at a bar. In the trailer, Cliff is seen soothing his knee with ice where he agrees that he had helped Leonardo DiCaprio’s Rick Dalton "subdue the hippie intruders" to Elizabeth Debicki’s character. We then see short glimpses of key characters including Carla Gugino and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II. There were also two Asian goons carrying a sledgehammer. Like the original film, The Adventures of Cliff Booth also carried expletives, nudity and cigarettes. However, all of them were censored on screen. The teaser was only released during the event and the streamer is expected to unveil it officially soon.
For the uninitiated, Cliff Booth was a stuntman for Rick Dalton (Leonardo DiCaprio), a star who is struggling to maintain his relevance. The film also starred Margot Robbie as yesteryear actress Sharon Tate. Fincher is directing the film from a script by Quentin Tarantino.
Set in the '70s, DiCaprio's character is not expected to return in this film. Other members of the cast include Scott Caan, Holt McCallany, and JB Tadena. Timothy Olyphant is reprising his role of James Stacy from the first film.
Taratino is also backing the film along with Pitt, David Heyman, Ceán Chaffin and Stacey Sher. Netflix is expected to release The Adventures of Cliff Booth later in 2026. A release date is yet to be announced.
