Narcos actor Andrea Londo is headlining Wildcard, which also stars David Arquette, James Le Gros and Jeremy Gimenez.
Wildcard, which marks the directorial debut of Greg Bekkers, follows Isabel Collins (Londo), a former tennis prodigy who has just left the rehabilitation centre and tries to reclaim her life. What makes the process hard is that she struggles to regain what she lost in a world that incentivised her self-destruction. She returns to her childhood home to rebuild her identity and deal with her unresolved trauma.
The film's ensemble consists of CS Lee, Zak Steiner, Ava Hewitt, Juliana Ferreira, Vic Wolf, Kym Jackson, and Adam Perez Courtney.
Speaking about the film, Bekkers said that since Tennis was an integral part of her life for over 20 years, she was keen on bringing out its grittiness. She also added that she ensured the actors in the film were familiar with the sport. Praising Andrea's performance, Bekkers said that she understood her role well and that the film is built around Isabel's interior life.
