Following his recent horror film Insidious: Out of the Further, filmmaker Jacob Chase is reuniting with Blumhouse Productions and Atomic Monster for a new film. Titled Sleepover, the Universal film is set for a release on October 8, 2027.

Described as a "sleepover nightmare," Chase is co-writing the film with filmmaker Bryce McGuire, based on whose short story the film is being made. McGuire has directed Unfollowed (2018) and Night Swim (2024).

Chase's recent supernatural horror starred Amelia Eve in the lead. Despite opening to mixed reviews, the film is considered to be an improvement over Insidious: The Red Door (2023). The film follows a dentist, Gemma (Eve), who is forced by the malevolent spirits to turn into a medium to bring death back to the real world from the 'Further' world. This is a persistent struggle, and she lost her mother, Ingrid (Laura Gordon), as a child.

Made his debut in 2020's Come Play, Chase has also directed the TV series The Girl in the Woods.
