Glen Powell is aware of the repercussions that a celebrity could face if they interact with a cancelled actor in any form and it comes to the public's attention. Speaking on the podcast Therapuss With Jake Shane, Powell said that he met an actor at a Hollywood party whom he admires a lot and who starred in some of his favourite films, but the latter "had basically been on the ropes in terms of sort of getting cancelled" back then. Powell greeted the actor, conveyed to the latter that he is an admirer of their work, and was about to pose together in front of a professional photographer. However, Powell withdrew from the photograph after it occurred to him that he might be the actor's fan but not the choices they made. "So I was kind of just being nice," said Powell.

The Twisters star also shared that the actor he met at the party has a "toxic" face, and he admitted that he could face flak if the interaction went viral. However, he did not name the identity of the actor.

Powell, who is starring in Hulu's comedy series Chad Powers right now, has the film adaptation of Stephen King's dystopian novel The Running Man next. The film, directed by Edgar Wright, is slated for a November 14 release.
