Lionsgate has released the trailer for the upcoming post-apocalyptic film, Greenland 2. The film, which stars Gerard Butler in the lead, will release in early 2026.

Ric Roman Waugh, who directed Greenland (2020), returns to direct the sequel from a script written by Chris Sparling and Michelle LaFortune. Waugh also serves as a producer on the film along with Butler, Alan Seigel, Basil Iwanyk, Brendan Boyea, Erica Lee, John Zois, and Sebastien Raybaud. Thunder Road, Anton, STX Entertainment, and G-Base Entertainment are the banners backing the film.

The film also sees the return of Morena Baccarin from the first film. The rest of the cast also includes Roman Griffin Davies, who is known for his lead role in Jojo Rabbit, Amber Rose Revah, Gordon Alexander, Peter Polycarpou, William Abadie, and Tommy Earl Jenkins.

Set five years after the first film, Greenland 2 follows the survivors of the meteor strike on Earth, who are threatened by the rising threats to their safety. They will have to decide on whether to journey through the hellscapes of Earth, to safety, or to remain and battle the threats.
