The makers of The Hand That Rocks the Cradle have released the trailer for the film recently. Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Maika Monroe lead the cast of the thriller.

The Hand That Rocks the Cradle is directed by Michelle Garza Cervara from a script by Micah Bloomberg. This film will be Cervara's sophomore directorial, with her debut being the Spanish horror, Huesera: The Bone Woman. The film is a remake of the 1992 film of the same name, which was directed by Curtis Hanson, and written by Amanda Silver. Julianne Moore and Annabella Sciorra starred as the leads of the 1992 film.

Along with Winstead and Monroe the rest of the cast of the film includes Raul Castillo, Martin Starr, Mileiah Vega, Riki Lindhome, and Shannon Cochran.

The story of The Hand That Rocks the Cradle follows the story of Polly Murphy (Maika Monroe), a nanny hired by Caitlin (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) and Miguel Morales (Raul Castillo), to take care of their young children. Polly's true intentions within the couple's home is hidden, and has nothing to do with the taking care of the baby. The film is set to stream later this year.
