Anthony Carrigan, who was recently seen in Superman (2025), will join the cast of Spaceballs 2. George Wyner is also joining the cast of the film, which started production.

Josh Greenbaum is serving as the director of the sequel of the 1987 film. He directs the film from a script by Benji Samit and Dan Hernandez. Greenbaum is also producing the film along with Ron Howard, Mel Brooks, Josh Gad, Brian Grazer, Jeb Brody, and Kevin Salter. Samil and Hernandez will serve as an executive producer along with Adam Merims. Imagine Entertainment and Amazon MGM Studios are backing the film.

According to Deadline, the cast for the film includes Josh Gad, Mel Brooks, Rick Moranis, Bill Pullman, Daphne Zuniga, Keke Palmer, and Lewis Pullman. The film is expected to release in 2027.

Spaceballs which was released in 1987, was directed by Brooks, starred Brooks, Bill Pullman, John Candy, Zuniga, Moranis, and Wyner. The film parodied several space films like Star Wars, 2001: A Space Odyssey, and Planet of the Apes.
