Anemone distributor Focus Features shared another trailer for the film, which brings legendary actor Daniel Day-Lewis back into the silver screen after he announced his retirement from acting with 2017's Phantom Thread. The trailer has a footage of an infuriated Day-Lewis character punching Sean Bean's character on the face. At about the same time, a piece of text appears on screen, describing Day-Lewis' acting in the film as "the most anticipated performance of the year". The film, directed by Ronan Day-Lewis from a screenplay he has written alongside his legendary actor father, follows two brothers who reunite after a long time. The two share a complex and mysterious history that makes them forge a "fraught, if occasionally tender relationship," according to the official description from the upcoming New York Film Festival, where it is set to have its world premiere.

Samantha Morton also star in the film in an important role, along with Samuel Bottomley and Safia Oakley-Green. The film reunites Day-Lewis with Focus Features after The Phantom Thread. At the time of his retirement following Phantom Thread, Day-Lewis did not explain why he quit acting, instead deciding to term it a personal choice. It is not certain whether he will continue acting after Anemone or not. However, he recently revealed that collaborating with his director son on this film has "reignited" the strong desire he once had for acting.

On the technical front, Anemone has cinematographer Ben Fordesman, production designer Chris Oddy, and costume designer Jane Petrie. Focus Features and Universal Pictures are set to distribute it in the USA and internationally, respectively. The film is slated for an October 03 release in theatres.
