Natasha Lyonne will create and star in a new series, titled Force Majeure, along with Matt Berry, reported Deadline. Lyonne and Berry are developing the series that will be backed by Sky.
Tom Schrapling is also a co-creator for the series along with Lyonne and Berry. Schrapling also serves as a writer on the series along with Cirocco Dunlap and Iain Morris. Lyonne will serve as a producer for the series. Animal Pictures and Objective Fiction are backing the series.
Dubbed as a "buzzy retro series", Force Majeure will star Lyonne as Jennifer Majeure, an American mercenary, alongside Berry, who will play Thomas Force, a British art expert. They are recruited by Amanda Daventry, a billionaire, who is eccentric and obsessed with justice, to defeat international villains across Europe. But they also have to escape Daventry, who might be hiding some secrets from Force and Majeure.
Lyonne recently starred in the second season of Poker Face, in which she stars as a drifter, Charlie Cale, who has a special talent to identify lies. The series is created by director Rian Johnson, who is gearing up for the release of Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery.
