Young Mazino and Stephen Root join fugitive thriller October

October is expected to be a fugitive thriller set during Halloween

Actor Young Mazino, known for his performances in critically acclaimed shows like Beef and The Last of Us season 2, and Stephen Root of Barry-fame are set to play supporting roles in the upcoming film October. The upcoming film is written and directed by Jeremy Saulnier.

They join previously announced cast members Cory Michael Smith who is leading the cast along with Chase Sui Wonders, Sophie Wilde, and Stanley Simons.

Details about the actors' roles are yet to be revealed. October is expected to be a fugitive thriller set during Halloween, according to Deadline.

Rich Peete, Eli Bush along with Jeremy Saulnier and Skei Saulnier are backing the film.

Mazino was nominated for an Emmy for his performane Beef, whose second season is currently in the works. The actor played Jesse, a key character in HBO's award-winning The Last of Us season 2. He was previously associated with A24 via a role on Opus, a cult-thriller starring Ayo Edebiri and John Malkovich.

Root is a seasoned character actor who recently earned his first Emmy nomination for portraying Monroe Fuches, the criminal associate of Barry Berkman, in HBO’s Barry. He is also well-known for his roles in films and shows such as Office Space, Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story, and King of the Hill. Most recently, he appeared in the Prime Video hit film Heads of State.
