Monster: The Ed Gein Story's trailer shows the spine-chilling story that inspired classic films

Netflix has released the trailer for its crime drama, Monster: The Ed Gein Story. Charlie Hunnam stars as the titular serial killer in the series which is set to premiere on October 3.

Monster: The Ed Gein Story is the third season of the anthology series Monster. The series chronicled the story of Jeffrey Dahmer in the first season and the Menendez brothers in the second season. The series is created by Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan. The killings of Ed Gein inspired Psycho (1960), The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974), and The Silence of the Lambs (1991).

The rest of the cast of Monster: The Ed Gein Story includes includes Suzanna Son, Laurie Metcalf, Vicky Krieps, Tyler Jacob Moore, Charlie Hall, Will Brill, Mimi Kennedy, Robin Weigert, with Tom Hollander as Alfred Hitchcock, Olivia Williams as Alma Reville, as Hitchcock's wife, and Joey Pollari as Anthony Perkins, the star of Hitchcock's Psycho (1960).

Netflix has also renewed Monster for a fourth season. The fourth season will focus on the story of Lizzie Borden, a woman who killed her parents. Ella Beatty will star as Borden, with Rebecca Hall and Krieps also starring in the fourth season.
