Trailer for Richard Linklater's Nouvelle Vague chronicles rise of the French New Wave

Richard Linklater's Nouvelle Vague will centre around critic turned director, Jean-Luc Godard and the making of Breathless

Netflix has revealed the trailer for the upcoming film Nouvelle Vague, recently. The film is directed by Richard Linklater and is set to premiere on the platform later this year.

Linklater continues his collaboration with the platform after Hit Man (2023), which starred Glen Powell as an contractor hired by the police to impersonate a hitman, so as to arrest the people hiring him. But his latest venture is Blue Moon, which stars Ethan Hawke and Margaret Qualley in the lead.

In Nouvelle Vague, Guillaume Marbeck will portray Jean-Luc Godard, with Zoey Deutch as Jean Seberg, and Aubry Dullin as Jean-Paul Belmondo.

The film follows chronicles the making of Godard's Breathless, which was the director's feature film debut. He ideated the film alongside Francois Truffaut. The French New Wave also saw the rise of other acclaimed directors like Agnes Varda, Jacques Remy, and Claude Chabrol.
