Teaser for Matt Damon-Ben Affleck starrer The Rip released

The Rip is Matt Damon and Ben Affleck's eleventh film together as actors, with a small appearance as extras in Field of Dreams being their first collaboration

Netflix unveiled the teaser for its upcoming crime thriller, The Rip. The film, which stars Matt Damon and Ben Affleck in the lead, will stream on the platform from January 16, 2026.

The Rip is directed by Joe Carnahan, who has previously directed The A-Team (2010), The Grey (2011), and Shadow Force (2025). Damon and Affleck will produce the film under their Artists Equity banner.

The rest of the cast of the film includes Steven Yeun, Teyana Taylor, Sasha Calle, Catalina Sandino Moreno, Nestor Carbonell, Scott Adkins, Lina Esco, and Kyle Chandler.

'The Rip' is a term used by the police in Miami, USA, to describe the confiscation of materials from criminals, after the police have raided their places. The film will follow a group of Miami cops, who, after discovering a stash of money, worth millions of US Dollars, in a derilict drug house, begin to suspect each other.

Childhood friends, Affleck and Damon's collaboration began with both of them playing extras in Field of Dreams. They went on to star together in School Ties, Good Will Hunting, Chasing Amy, Dogma, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, Jersey Girl, Jay and Silent Bob Reboot, The Last Duel, and Air.
