28 Years Later: The Bone Temple trailer shows a new threat amongst the infected

28 Years Later: The Bone Temple is directed by Nia DaCosta and written by Alex Garland, with Danny Boyle and Cillian Murphy backing the film

Sony Pictures have released the trailer for 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple, a follow up to 28 Years Later (2025). The film which is directed by Nia DaCosta, is set to release theatrically on January 26, 2026.

DaCosta is familiar to the horror genre, with one of her previous directorials being Candyman (2019). While Danny Boyle is not returning as the director, he will serve as the producer on the film. Writer for the film Alex Garland, will also serve as a producer on the film along with Andrew Macdonald, ​​​​​Peter Rice, and ​Bernard Bellew. Cillian Murphy, who led the cast of 28 Days Later (2002) will serve as an executive producer on the film. Sony Pictures and Columbia will back the film.

From 28 Years Later (2025), Alfie Williams returns as Spike, Ralph Fiennes returns as Dr Kelson, and Jack O'Connell returns as Jimmy Crystal. Chi Lewis-Parry also returns as the Alpha, with Erin Kellyman joining the film.

The story of the film continues where 28 Years Later (2025) left off. Dr Kelson is stuck in a tumultous relationship with Spike, whose involvement with Jimmy Crystal becomes a cage for Spike.
