Oscar-nominated actor Graham Greene passes away

Actor Graham Greene passed away on September 1. The Oscar-nominated actor was 73 and breathed his last at a hospital in Toronto, Canada.

While the exact cause of death hasn't been revealed, Greene was suffering from a long illness. Greene began his career in the 1980s, playing small roles in theatre and independent films. He went on to be nominated for an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor in Kevin Costner's directorial debut Dances With Wolves.

He went on to star in films like Die Hard With a Vengeance (1995), The Green Mile(1999), The Twilight Saga: New Moon (2009), Wind River (2017), and Molly's Game.

Greene also has a varied Television career having appeared in well-established shows like American Gods, 1883, season one of The Last of Us, Reservation Dogs, Marvel's Echo, and Tulsa King.

Greene was one of the earliest actors of North American Indigenous descent to break into mainstream Hollywood and paved the way for more roles for actors of Indigenous descent to gain prominence in Hollywood.
