A spinoff series to Hotel Transylvania titled Motel Transylvania, which was announced last year, will now be released in 2027, two years after it was scheduled to hit Netflix. Although no reasons for its delay were mentioned, Sony Pictures Animation wrote on their X handle, "The gremling wrecking crew is working overtime at the Motel Transylvania. Coming to Netflix in 2027."

According to reports, Motel Transylvania series follows Drac and Mavis as they head to California and try to set up a brand new resort for humans and monsters. Sony Pictures Animation is also backing the show. Other details regarding new entrants to the cast are yet to be announced.

The Hotel Transylvania franchise consists of four animated feature films, three short films, an animated television series, and several video games. The first part of the film (2012) dealt with Dracula's (Adam Sandler) daughter Mavis (Selena Gomez) meeting a human named Johnny (Andy Samberg), who accidentally stumbles upon the hotel. The duo fall in love despite Dracula's disapproval. In the second film Hotel Transylvania 2, Mavis and Johnny have a half-human/half-vampire son named Dennis. Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation (2018) saw Dracula falling for Ericka (Kathryn Hahn), a great-granddaughter of monster hunter Van Helsing (Jim Gaffigan) while on a cruise ship with his family. The 2022-released fourth film Hotel Transylvania: Transformania revolved around Dracula, now voiced by Brian Hull, and Johnny teaming up to find a cure to turn themselves back into their old selves before their transformations become permanent.

A television series titled Hotel Transylvania: The Series based on the film premiered on June 25, 2017, and ended on October 29, 2020. The prequel series focused on the 114/115 years of Mavis and her friends at the Hotel Transylvania.
