The first film in phase 6 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), The Fantastic Four: First Steps, is all set to premiere on OTT. The film hit theatres on July 25 and opened to critical acclaim and earned $521.9 million worldwide, making it the tenth-highest-grossing film of 2025.

The film, helmed by Matt Shakman, stars Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards / Mister Fantastic, Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm / Invisible Woman, Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm / Human Torch, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm / The Thing. The visual spectacle is all set to premiere on JioHotstar on November 5.

The Fantastic Four: First Steps brings back Marvel's First Family—Reed Richards (Mister Fantastic), Sue Storm (Invisible Woman), Johnny Storm (Human Torch), and Ben Grimm (The Thing)—as they confront their biggest challenge yet. They must protect Planet Earth from a destructive cosmic force known as Galactus and his enigmatic Herald, the Silver Surfer. At the same time, the heroes must balance their powers and roles with familial responsibilities and the larger duty to protect planet Earth.

The cast also includes Ralph Ineson as Galactus, Julia Garner as Shalla-Bal / Silver Surfer, Paul Walter Hauser as Harvey Elder / Mole Man, Natasha Lyonne as Rachel Rozman, and Sarah Niles as Lynne Nichols. The film is set in a universe, Earth-828, which goes beyond the main Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) timeline.

The film has a screenplay by Josh Friedman, Eric Pearson, and the team of Jeff Kaplan and Ian Springer. An excerpt from CE's review of the film reads, "Beyond the screenplay’s success lies the visual world the makers have carefully crafted. Matt Shakman, who proved his prowess with the retro setting of Wandavision, strikes a neat balance here between the retro and the futuristic." A sequel for the film is in development.
