Garrett Hedlund is joining the cast of Heartland, which is being developed by Netflix. Jessica Chastain leads the cast of Heartland.
The film is directed by Shana Feste, who previously directed Boundaries which starred Vera Farmiga and Christopher Plummer. Tracey Cook and Jeff Valeri are serving as executive producers on the film. Peter Chernin, Randall Poster, Jenno Topping, and Jason Owen are producing the film. Chernin Entertainment and Sandbox Studios are backing the film.
Joining alongside Hedlund are Jennifer Nettles, Ross Lynch, and Ben Dickey. Previously announced cast for Heartland are Carter Faith and John Hawkes.
According to Deadline, the story of the film follows a famed country singer Misty Jones (Jessica Chastain), who gets out of isolation after her niece (Carter Faith) goes missing.
Hedlund is known for his roles in Tron: Legacy, Unbroken, and Inside Llewyn Davis.
