Apple TV+ has finally revealed the date at which F1 race into the platform. The film starring Brad Pitt in the lead will premiere on the platform on December 12.
F1 is directed by Joseph Kosinski, who has made the Tom Cruise-starrer Top Gun: Maverick. Jerry Bruckheimer who produced Top Gun: Maverick also backed F1. Speaking about the film Bruckheimer said, "It’s been thrilling to see audiences around the world embrace F1 in theaters. Now, we’re beyond excited to bring this exhilarating, cinematic ride to fans everywhere through Apple TV."
According to Box Office Mojo, F1 has grossed over $600 million in its worldwide collection, making it one of the best performing sports films of all time.
Pitt starred as Sonny Hayes, a former Formula One driver, now a racer-for-hire, who is bought back to Formula One at the behest of his former teammate (Ruben Cervantes). He faces multiple challenges including a bullish rookie Joshua Pearce (Damson Idris). Sonny has to endure to bag a victory for his friend and to sustain as a driver.
