Diane Keaton passes away at 79

Diane Keaton was known for her work in The Godfather Trilogy, Annie Hall, and Marvin's Room

Diane Keaton, who was known for her performances as Kay Adams in The Godfather trilogy, the titular character in Annie Hall, and Bessie in Marvin's Room, has passed away at the age of 79. People magazine broke the news after a spokesperson revealed the news to them. The reason for her passing hasn't been revealed.

Keaton made her film debut with the 1970 film, Lovers and Other Strangers, which was directed by Cy Howard. But her breakthrough role was as Kay Adams, the partner of Michael Corleone (Al Pacino), in Francis Ford Coppola's The Godfather (1972). In the film, Kay Adams was romantically involved with Michael Corleone, a man who rises to be the head of the Corleone crime syndicate. Keaton reprised her role as Kay Adams in The Godfather Part II (1974) and The Godfather Part III (1990).

Keaton was also known for her collaborations with director Woody Allen. Keaton and Allen have collaborated on Annie Hall, Manahattan, Love and Death, Manahattan Murders, and Sleeper, among others.

She received an Oscar for Best Actress for her performance in Annie Hall, while receiving nominations for Reds, Marvin's Room, and Something's Gotta Give.

Her final film role was in Castille Landon's Summer Camp. She breathed her last in California, USA.
