Earlier, we reported about Aldis Hodge coming back as Detective Alex Cross in Prime Video's second season for the titular series, based on James Patterson's eponymous novel series. The latest development from the project is that Cross Season 2 is slated to premiere on Prime Video on February 11 next year. The first three episodes will drop on February 11, and the further parts will release each week thereafter until March 18. Prime Video also released a teaser for Cross Season 2, featuring Hodge as the iconic character. According to the official logline, in the upcoming season, Cross goes "in pursuit of a ruthless vigilante who is hunting down corrupt billionaire magnates."

Besides Hodge, it also brings Cross Season 1 stars Isaiah Mustafa, Samantha Walkes, Alona Tal, Juanita Jennings, Melody Hurd, Johnny Ray Gill, and Caleb Elijah. Matthew Lillard, Wes Chatham, and Jeanine Mason are the new additions to the cast. Created by Ben Watkins, with Hodge himself serving as its executive producer, Cross is the highest rated adaptation of Patterson's novel series. According to Prime Video, it attracted 40 million audiences in 20 days of its release on the streaming platform. It is a co-produced venture between Amazon MGM Studios and Paramount Television Studios.

Speaking about the show and his vision for it in the future in an earlier conversation with CE, Hodge said, "I feel this show presents a new evolution of the idea of a thriller, our approach to and perception of detectives and detective shows. What we are bringing to the table is uniquely indicative of Cross and its world. As to how I want to present him, I don't have any particular ideas outside of trying to build on my natural relationship with the character. What I respond to and connect with, that is always going to be organic."
