Fifty years after Dog Day Afternoon we get a first look at another hostage situation involving Al Pacino, in the new trailer for Dead Man's Wire. Veteran director Gus Van Sant is directing the film, which is set to release in early 2026.
Van Sant is directing the film from a script by director Austin Kolodney, who is making his screenwriting debut with Dead Man's Wire. Elevated Films, Pressman Film, Balcony 9 Productions, Sobini Films, RNA Pictures, Pinstripes are the banners backing the film.
Bill Skarsgard is leading the cast for the film which includes Dacre Montgomery, Colman Domingo, Al Pacino, Cary Elwes, and Myha’la.
Dead Man's Wire is based on a true story of Tony Kiritsis, played by Skarsgard, who takes his bank mortgager as a hostage, in demand of a ransom and an apology.
Skarsgard has been recently seen in It: Welcome to Derry, reprising his role of Pennywise the Clown from It and It: Chapter Two. It: Welcome to Derry is currently streaming on JioHotstar, with episodes releasing weekly, on Monday.
