Alexandra Shipp, known for her roles in Anyone but You and Barbie, is set to headline the psychological thriller The Autopsy of Albert Kemper, headlined by writer-director David Benullo.

The film also stars Eric Stoltz, popular for Mask and Pulp Fiction, and David Thornton from the Terrifier films.

The Autopsy of Albert Kemper draws inspiration from an urban legend that goes like this: after Jeffrey Dahmer's death, the authorities were rumoured to have handcuffed the serial killer, fearing he might rise again. The film has Shipp play Riley Shaw, a morgue assistant, who undergoes a night of reckoning as she spots that the corpse of a serial killer goes through some strange after-death experiences. Though the makers are tight-lipped about Stoltz's role, Thornton plays Albert Kemper.

Shipp recently completed filming Forbidden Fruits, alongside Lili Reinhart, Victoria Pedretti, and Lola Tung. She was last seen in Brian Cox's Glenrothan, which starred Alan Cumming, Cox, Siobhan Redmond, and Shirley Henderson.
