Shared consciousness in a Freaky Friday-esque animated tale. This one line explains the plot behind Hoppers, Pixar's latest animated film whose trailer was been released by the makers on Thursday. Directed by Chong, known for We Bare Bears, the upcoming film is set for release in theatres March 6, 2026.
The film is headlined by Piper Curda, Bobby Moynihan and Jon Hamm. The voice cast also includes Meryl Streep, Dave Franco, Kathy Najimy, Eduardo Franco, Melissa Villaseñor, Ego Nwodim, Vanessa Bayer, Sam Richardson, Aparna Nancherla, Nichole Sakura, Isiah Whitlock Jr., Steve Purcell, Karen Huie and Tom Law.
The trailer sees Mabel (Curd) crashing into a class to ask her professor for help. The professor has been working on an advanced technology to connect with animals by transfering human consciousness into the body of a beaver. Unknown about its full effects, Mabel tests it out and is ecstatic about being able to talk to animals. However, she soon gets into a pact with them and becomes a rebel leader to get back at humans for destroying their homes. But before she could realise the extent of the effect of her actions, she realises it is too late.
“We have assembled a legendary cast for Hoppers, and the voice talent really gave the film all they had. Be it uproarious humor, heartfelt emotion or crazy animal noises, they delivered beyond our expectations,” said Chong and producer Nicole Paradis Grindle in a new joint statement.
