Get ready to hear words like 'Enchanté' and 'Merci' as The White Lotus season 4 officially heads to France. Previously, stars Parker Posey and Jason Isaacs revealed that creator Mike White has chosen the South of France as the setting for the Emmy-winning dramedy’s upcoming fourth season. Now, Casey Bloys, HBO and HBO Max chairman and CEO, confirmed the same at the HBO Max programming slate presentation in New York on Thursday.

Bloys said, "It’s going to be in France. Mike [White] is writing and just starting." He further added that White is "very, very early" in the casting process.

Previously, on the Emmy's red carpet, Parker Posey said, “Mike [White] is in the South of France right now. That’s where Season 4 is going to be." The actor, who played Southern housewife Victoria Ratliff in Season 3, admitted she has no idea if she’ll be back for the upcoming season.

Her co-star Jason Isaacs, who portrayed Timothy Ratliff, echoed the news but wasn’t too optimistic about his family’s White Lotus vacation prospects. “They’ll be lucky if they can stay in a Howard Johnson’s,” he joked.

Posey also teased the possibility of seeing Jennifer Coolidge again — despite her fan-favourite Tanya McQuoid being killed off in Season 2. “When you’re at the top of a mountain, people can hallucinate spirits. I think Coolidge can come back, depending on the location. Like in the Alps somewhere,” she said.

Season 3, which followed vacationers from Koh Samui to Bangkok, marked the series’ biggest ratings to date. Earlier installments were set in Sicily and Maui, with each season reimagining a Four Seasons property as the lavish White Lotus resort.

Across all three chapters, the anthology has chronicled groups of wealthy, troubled travellers whose dysfunctions — and, often, mysterious deaths — collide with the hotel staff’s lives. The White Lotusis executive produced by Mike White, David Bernad and Mark Kamine.
