Lilo and Stitch mints $341 million worldwide

It is second only to A Minecraft Movie in terms of opening weekend collection from theatres worldwide

Lilo and Stitch, Disney’s reimagining of the 2002 animation film, has minted $341 million at the global box office, according to multiple reports. In the non-US markets alone, the film earned $157.8 million, reports indicate. It is second only to A Minecraft Movie in terms of opening weekend collections from theatres worldwide. In terms of ticket sales on the first weekend since release, the film comes third among Disney films after The Lion King (2019) and Beauty and the Beast (2017).

Director Dean Fleischer Camp's film follows an alien who accidentally comes to Hawaii, where a girl adopts it alongside her elder sibling. Lilo and Stitch stars Sydney Elizebeth Agudong, Billy Magnussen, Hannah Waddingham, Chris Sanders, and Zach Galifianakis. Outside of the US, the film earned the most in Mexico, the United Kingdom, and Brazil.
