SNL Film is bringing together a vibrant ensemble for Olde Boys, a soccer comedy that promises laughs, heart, and a whole lot of underdog charm. Written, directed, and produced by Nick Wilkinson, the film begins shooting this September in the U.K. and U.S., with a release targeted to coincide with the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Olde Boys follows Mike Giordano, a small-town lawyer and part-time striker whose over-50s soccer team is falling apart—until a last-ditch entry into the World Masters tournament in England, with help from his teenage daughter and coach, Frankie, gives them one final shot at glory.

Tuc Watkins leads the cast as Mike, the team’s ageing but ever-hopeful captain. He’s joined by Guy Nardulli as Nico, the mischief-loving midfield maestro; Jay Huguley as Rob, a rough-edged team leader hiding his vulnerability; and Ray Fearon as Travis, the team’s mercurial star player wrestling personal demons.

Cailey Fleming is in talks to play Frankie Giordano, Mike’s brilliant and fiery daughter whose coaching savvy becomes the team’s secret weapon. Shanley Caswell and August Diehl are also circling key roles.

Veteran producer Lisa G Black joins Wilkinson to back the upcoming film.
