Robert De Niro's Silver Linings Playbook co-star Anupam Kher has congratulated the actor on winning the honourary Palme d'Or award at the 78th Cannes Film Festival. Anupam took to Instagram and wrote, "Congratulations to dear Robert De Niro for Palme d’Or award at the Cannes Film Festival 2025. You are literally the 'Godfather of Acting'. It is my honour and privilege to share the screen with you and to call you my friend. Thank you for the inspiration and the brilliance over the years. Love and prayers always!"

Anupam Kher also shared a picture of him with Robert De Niro alongside the congratulatory post. Anupam's sophomore directorial Tanvi The Great is set to premiere at the Cannes Film Festival this year. The actor made his debut as a director with 2002's Om Jai Jagadish.

On the other hand, Robert De Niro's upcoming projects include The Whisper Man, a crime thriller based on Alex North's eponymous novel. The film also stars John Carroll Lynch, Hamish Linklater, Owen Teague, Acston Luca Porto, Michelle Monaghan, Adam Scott, and Michael Keaton among others. Reportedly, De Niro's Jackie Brown co-star Keaton is playing a cameo role in the film from director James Ashcroft.
