Actor Meghann Fahy, known for her work in The White Lotus, is all set to headline Banquet. The supernatural thriller is directed by Spanish filmmaker Galder Gaztelu-Urrutia (The Platform).

Fahy, who recently portrayed the lead role as Violet Gates in Drop, will play Jenny Cochrane, a woman whose perfect life is shattered by the return of her estranged son, which reawakens a terrifying secret buried in her bloodline, reports Deadline. Banquet is expected to begin filming in the UK in October.

Sam Steiner has written the screenplay for Banquet which will be backed by Lewis Taylor and James Harris under their banners Film Transmission and Tea Shop Productions respectively. The film is executive produced by David Yates (Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Parts 1 & 2) of Wychwood Media.

Gaztelu-Urrutia's first film The Platform won awards at TIFF, Sitges and the Spanish Academy of Motion Pictures. A sequel, The Platform 2 was released last year.
