The teaser for Highest 2 Lowest, which is directed by Spike Lee, has been released. With Denzel Washington in the lead, this marks the fifth collaboration between Lee and Washington.
Based on Akira Kurosawa's High and Low (1963), Highest 2 Lowest follows a music mogul, known for having the "best ears in the business", who is targeted with a ransom plot as he is caught in a life-or-death situation.
Lee and Denzel have previously worked together on Mo' Better Blues, Malcolm X, He Got Game, and Inside Man.
With Denzel Washington playing the music mogul in Highest 2 Lowest, the rest of the cast includes Ilfenesh Hadera, Jeffrey Wright, Ice Spice, Dean Winters, John Douglas Thompson, and ASAP Rocky.
Apple and A24 are producing the film with Escape Artists and Mandalay Pictures. Lee serves as an executive producer under his 40 Acres and a Mule Filmworks.
Highest 2 Lowest, which is written by Lee and Alan Fox, is set to be released in the second half of 2025.
