Edward James Olmos to play Jennifer Lopez's father in Office Romance

Office Romance marks Olmos' third film with Lopez after the 1995 film My Family and the 1997 film Selena

Edward James Olmos has joined Netflix's Office Romance, starring Jennifer Lopez and Brett Goldstein in lead roles. He will be playing Lopez's father in the upcoming film.

Office Romance marks Olmos' third film with Lopez after the 1995 film My Family and the 1997 film Selena. In the latter, the biography of Selena Quintanilla-Pérez, Olmos starred as Abraham Quintanilla, father of Selena, while Lopez played the titular character.

Office Romance is written by Goldstein himself, along with Joe Kelly. Ol Parker is the director of the upcoming film. The film also stars Betty Gilpin in a prominent role.

It is produced by Aaron Ryder and Andrew Swett from Ryder Picture Company; Goldstein and Kelly; Lopez; and Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas and Benny Medina from Nuyorican Films. Courtney Baxter from Nuyorican will be the executive producer.

Olmos was last seen in One Fast Move and Outlaw Posse, last year. He was also seen in one episode of Blue Bloods. A renowned American actor and director, his notable roles include Lieutenant Martin Castillo in Miami Vice, William Adama in Battlestar Galactica, and Detective Gaff in Blade Runner. He was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actor for his performance in Stand and Deliver. Olmos has won an Emmy and a Golden Globe Award.
